Update one or more of a user's attributes by providing an operation path and value. Attributes that no operation names are left unchanged. For the supported paths and operation shapes see SCIM Patch User supported operations.

Group membership is managed here via groups add/remove operations, e.g. {"op":"add","path":"groups","value":[{"value":"<groupId>"}]} (and the equivalent remove, whose path takes a value filter: groups[value eq "<groupId>"]). The groups attribute is read-only on create/replace: any groups supplied to POST/PUT is ignored, not applied.

You can only add groups to users who belong to {namespace}. Create one who doesn't here first with POST /{namespace}/Users by email — otherwise the add is rejected with 400.

A user's email address cannot be changed through SCIM. An operation targeting emails or profileUrl is rejected with 400, and one targeting userName is ignored.
